CHANGE LOG
==========

Release 8.2.1
-------------

 - FIX : When running the Update Account from the Administration client, the
main form was not being updated to show the new version number for the
server account. This has been fixed.

Release 8.2.0
-------------

 - NEW : From this release the cataloging of the server side has changed on
UniData. To permit side by side installation with previous versions of
mvQuery for evaluation, the catalogs have changed from global used in
previous releases to local and direct for this release. This means you
can update your reporting accounts to suit and must create any new
reporting accounts using the new administration client.

Release 8.2.0
-------------

 - NEW : From this release some new commands have been added to the scripting
language, to improve handling around exports and files created by the
queries. A HASRESULTS command allows you to check results. New file
and directory commands are COPY, DELETE, MOVE, MKDIR and RMDIR. WRITE
and WRITELINE allow you to write text to a new or existing file. The
EXPORT now has an optional ELSE clause. Finally, the Script Assistant
now has a Run button added so you can run your script directly from
           the editor.

 - NEW : From this release the User Guide and Tutorial will be available from
the SE help menu, and the administration guides from the Admin Client
           help menu.

 - NEW : The handling of subvalued data has been clarified at this release.
For exploded queries, you have the option to treat subvalued data as
records, as values, as text or delimited using the specified delimiter
character. For non-exploded queries, you have a similar option to
raise subvalues to values (the previous default action) or to handle
           them as delimited.

 - NEW : From this release the format of the authorisation codes has changed.
Please contact your supplier for information.

 - FIX : When adding a formula column, the calculation was being run twice.
           This has been fixed.

 - FIX : The qusane command could mess up certain terminal types. This has been
           fixed.

Release 8.0.7
-------------

 - FIX : During new test automation, it was revealed that a selection using a
join field with a multivalued key might not produce the correct number
of records in an edge case. This has been fixed.

Release 8.0.5
-------------

 - NEW : From this release, two new security flags have been added to the
           server configuration.
           [Security]
           RequireUser=Yes
           RequireProfile=Yes
If RequireUser is set to Yes, the system will prevent connections from
users who do not have a user entry defined in the security profiles.
If RequireProfile is set to Yes, the system will prevent connections
from users who may have an entry defined, but have no profile.
Note that if this is not set, and the user has no profile attached,
the user will default to the PUBLIC profile as previously.

Release 8.0.4
-------------

 - FIX : From this release the qucmd will add a missing default ID field to the
start of the display list, not to the end. This is for compatibility
           with enquiry languages.

 - FIX : From this release an old use case has been resolved. When adding a
formula column it was necessary for the query to have been run, as the
validation of the formula requires that the results have been loaded
to locate any field referenced in the expression. Details of the
fields were only passed to the results on running the query, so
validation of formulae prior to that could fail. This has been fixed.

Release 8.0.3
-------------

 - NEW : From this release, the Password Manager has been reinstated for PSE.

 - NEW : A new tool bar has been added above the list of fields on the query
window. This enables you to refresh the field list and adds a
convenient quick launch to the dictionary editor.

 - NEW : From this release, a new button has been added to the Data Sources
toolbar to allow a quick reconnect. This will close the existing
connection and reconnect to the same server with the current
credential, and without closing any open queries. This is to enable
anything that has been cached by the database, for example subroutines
in memory, to be flushed without having to close down and restart
mvQuery. Note that this does not affect the current auto-reconnect
that takes place if a connection is broken.

 - NEW : From this release, the mvQuery reports now support a range of QR codes
and similar 2D barcodes. These are available as data bound fields or
as fixed content such as encoding URLs for company websites. A number
of small presentational improvements have been made to the report
designer to ensure that the older controls are consistent with the new
           additions.

 - NEW : The default reporting stylesheet has been updated to a fresher, more
modern look. Sites can of course supply their own stylesheet for their
           preferred look and feel.

 - NEW : The Export to File and Export to Excel have been upgraded with new
functionality. Two new exports have been added to the Export menu on
the query, and the existing ones will now set the defaults for these.
You can now normalize based on an association, elect to strip the
column headers, break rows and row counter, set new column and value
delimiters and there is more control internally over quoting delimited
data. Please see the user guide for more details.

 - NEW : From this release, a new licence screen has been added under the Help
menu for Standard Edition. This will show the licence details for the
currently connected server. If the licence code is soon to expire, a
warning message will also be displayed when you connect, unless
           running from a script.

 - FIX : When a preselect contained multiple prompts, this could result in an
error when they were filled in from the SE client. This has been
           fixed.

Release 8.0.1
-------------
 - NEW : D3 Support
This version includes the first beta for D3. Please see the server
           installation guide for more details.

Release 8.0.0
-------------

 - NEW : New version 8.
The product has been rebranded to Aptron Corporation and renumbered as
version 8. Please note that the location of the settings has also
changed, and is now held at %PROGRAMDATA%\mvQuery. The names of the
programs, libraries and server assets have now lost the query7
           monikers.

Please note that authorisation codes for version 7 will not work with
           this release.
